The challenge

Start with the currency you need to use

A low receiving fee answers only part of the question. A contractor who spends euros and an agency that pays suppliers in USDC need different payment outcomes. Compare the same invoice, destination currency and withdrawal route before choosing a provider.

The EurusPay approach

Payment flow and payout: the practical differences

Client payment

EurusPay: the client sends EUR by SEPA to the approved beneficiary details. Eligible receipts are converted and paid to the configured USDC or USDT wallet. EurusPay product details.

Wise: clients can use EUR account details for European bank transfers or EUR SWIFT receipts, credited in EUR. Wise EUR receiving guide.

Using the proceeds

Wise: fiat balances, conversion and onward payments suit expenses paid through traditional financial rails. Wise receive-and-use options. Its account policy prohibits transfers to buy crypto or fund crypto wallets; cards have a separate policy. This is not an automatic EUR-to-USDC/USDT payout route. Wise crypto policy.

EurusPay: the end point is your compatible wallet. Check the supported token and network before sharing payment details.

Example

Example: a €2,000 invoice with two different destinations

Illustrative scenario: an independent designer invoices a European client €2,000. If the designer needs fiat for upcoming expenses, assess the Wise balance and onward bank-payment route. If the designer needs USDC in a wallet, assess EurusPay's receipt, conversion and payout as one workflow.

At EurusPay's published Starter rate, the percentage fee on €2,000 is €49.80. At the Professional rate, it is €39.20, plus the €9 monthly subscription: €48.20 if this is the only payment that month. These are plan-fee calculations, not guaranteed net wallet quotes. Published EurusPay plans.

EUR and dollar-linked stablecoins are different units. The resulting token amount depends on the applicable exchange rate and fees. Request the actual amount received at the intended destination before deciding which route costs less.

Why it helps

Fees: compare receipt, conversion and payout

EurusPay: Starter €0/month + 2.49% per incoming payment; Professional €9/month + 1.96%; Enterprise custom. Confirm the plan applicable to your account and the conversion and payout details. EurusPay pricing.

Wise: domestic EUR receipt is free; EUR SWIFT receipt costs €2.39, with possible correspondent fees. EUR receiving fees. Business setup/account-details fees vary by registration country. Business onboarding fees. Obtain a separate quote for conversion and onward payment.

A free EUR receipt and a paid EUR-to-wallet flow deliver different results. Include setup or subscription costs, receiving fees, exchange rates, conversion charges and final payout costs in your comparison.

How it works

Which provider fits your use case?

  • Consider Wise when keeping and using fiat is your priority. Assess its country-specific account and payment options against your actual expenses.
  • Consider EurusPay when European customers pay invoices in EUR and your destination is USDC or USDT in your own compatible wallet.
  • For mixed needs, decide the destination for each invoice. Do not assume a Wise-to-crypto transfer is permitted.

EurusPay's typical SEPA Instant flow takes about two minutes from sending to wallet arrival. For standard SEPA, that interval starts at receipt by the receiving bank. Reviews or network delays can extend it. Timing explained. Wise lists domestic EUR receipt as usually minutes, sometimes one working day; that describes arrival in EUR, not wallet settlement. Wise receipt timing.

Questions

EUR payment comparison: FAQ

Is EurusPay always cheaper than Wise?

No. Compare the same final currency and destination. A EUR balance and stablecoins in a wallet are different outcomes, and account, conversion and payout costs can change the result.

Can my European client still pay by bank transfer?

Yes, subject to the chosen provider's account and payment eligibility. Use the approved beneficiary details and reference for that provider.

Does my client need to buy USDC or USDT with EurusPay?

No. Your client pays the EUR invoice by SEPA. EurusPay processes eligible receipts and pays the resulting stablecoins to your configured wallet.

Should I change all my invoice instructions at once?

Verify account approval, payment instructions and the destination first. Then update the relevant client supplier records and retain each invoice's payment and payout records.
