Why receiving SEPA payments is difficult outside Europe
SEPA Credit Transfer is one of the standard ways individuals and businesses send euro payments across Europe. The European Payments Council describes it as a harmonised payment scheme used throughout the SEPA area. For a European customer, paying a contractor or supplier by SEPA usually fits the same online-banking, approval, and reconciliation process used for domestic invoices.
The difficulty starts when the recipient lives or operates outside Europe. A local bank account in Latin America, Africa, Asia, or the Middle East may not accept an ordinary SEPA transfer. The client may instead have to arrange an international SWIFT payment, add a foreign beneficiary, pay additional bank charges, and wait through correspondent-bank processing. Some finance teams also require extra approval before sending money to a non-European account.
Asking the customer to pay in cryptocurrency rarely solves the payer's problem. The client would need an exchange account, a wallet, the correct token, and the correct blockchain network. A European buyer usually wants to approve a genuine EUR invoice and send a normal bank transfer. The recipient, however, may prefer the resulting value in a stablecoin wallet. EurusPay is designed to connect those two payment preferences.
