The challenge

Working with European clients is easy. Receiving their EUR payments is not always.

A Nigerian developer, consultant, designer or agency can work seamlessly with customers in Germany, France, Spain, the Netherlands or elsewhere in Europe. The service is international, but the customer’s payment process is usually local: approve an invoice in euros, register the supplier’s bank details and send a SEPA transfer.

When you can only provide Nigerian payment details, the customer may need to arrange an international transfer instead. That can introduce additional bank steps, uncertain intermediary charges, slower processing and an unwanted currency conversion. Some finance teams are also reluctant to send cryptocurrency directly because they do not operate a wallet or exchange account.

EurusPay connects these two payment environments. Your European client keeps paying a normal EUR invoice from its bank account. You receive the processed value as USDC or USDT in your own approved wallet.

The EurusPay approach

European payment details connected to your stablecoin wallet

Eligible freelancers and registered businesses in Nigeria can apply for the appropriate EurusPay account, complete verification and configure a compatible wallet. Once approved, the account displays the beneficiary name, European IBAN, payment reference and other instructions required for eligible EUR payments.

You add those payment details to a genuine client invoice. Your European customer pays in euros by SEPA using the banking process it already knows. The customer does not need to buy cryptocurrency, create a wallet or select a blockchain network.

After the payment has arrived, been matched to the underlying transaction and passed the required checks, EurusPay converts the eligible amount and sends the resulting USDC or USDT to your configured wallet.

This flow is designed for documented professional and business income. It is not a conventional general-purpose bank account and should not be used for unrelated personal transfers. Learn more about European payment details for non-EU freelancers and the business-account flow for non-EU companies.

Example

Example: a Nigerian software developer invoices a German company

Illustrative scenario: an independent software developer in Lagos provides development services to a company in Berlin for an agreed monthly fee of €3,000. The German company wants to pay a standard EUR invoice by SEPA and does not want to purchase or transfer cryptocurrency.

  1. The developer completes verification. The developer creates the appropriate EurusPay account, provides the requested identity and professional information, and connects an approved USDC or USDT wallet.
  2. The developer issues a EUR invoice. The invoice names the German customer, describes the development services and billing period, and includes the exact beneficiary details and payment reference displayed by EurusPay.
  3. The customer pays by SEPA. The German company approves the invoice and sends €3,000 from its business bank account. Its finance team follows a familiar European bank-transfer process.
  4. EurusPay processes the payment. The incoming payment is matched to the account and transaction. Additional information may be requested if a review is required.
  5. The developer receives stablecoins. After successful processing and conversion, the resulting USDC or USDT is sent to the approved wallet.

The invoice remains denominated in euros. The final stablecoin amount depends on the applicable exchange rate and fees at the time of processing; a €3,000 invoice does not necessarily result in exactly 3,000 USDC or USDT.

Why it helps

A simpler route from European client payments to your wallet

  • A familiar payment method for European customers. Your client pays a normal EUR invoice by SEPA using its existing bank account.
  • No crypto setup for the payer. The customer does not need an exchange account, stablecoin balance or wallet.
  • European payment details after approval. Use the beneficiary name, IBAN and reference shown in your EurusPay account for eligible payments.
  • USDC or USDT payout. Receive the processed value in an approved compatible wallet using an available token and network.
  • Personal and business account options. Independent professionals use the applicable personal flow; registered companies use a business account and complete KYB.
  • Fewer manual conversion steps. Connect an incoming EUR client payment with settlement to your wallet without first moving the funds through a separate provider and exchange.
  • Clear transaction records. Keep the contract, invoice, payment and stablecoin payout connected for reconciliation.
  • Suitable for documented project work. Use the flow for eligible project invoices, milestones and recurring service fees initiated by the customer.

This payment route may be suitable for eligible software developers, IT consultants, designers, marketing and development agencies, business consultants, content creators working directly with brands, and registered Nigerian service companies.

How it works

How to receive EUR payments in Nigeria with EurusPay

  1. Choose the correct account type. Apply as an individual when you provide the service and invoice in your own name. Use a business account when a registered company signs the contract and issues the invoice.
  2. Complete KYC or KYB. Provide the requested identity, address, professional or company information. Business onboarding may also require incorporation documents, directors, representatives and beneficial owners.
  3. Describe your payment activity. Explain the services you provide, where your clients are located, and the expected size and frequency of incoming EUR payments.
  4. Connect an approved wallet. Select an available USDC or USDT option and a network supported by both EurusPay and your receiving wallet.
  5. Review your activated payment details. Check the beneficiary name, IBAN, reference, limits, fees and transaction requirements displayed in your account.
  6. Create a genuine EUR invoice. Include the correct supplier and customer, service, date, amount, currency, payment terms and approved payment instructions.
  7. Let your client pay by SEPA. The European customer initiates the transfer using the exact details and reference provided.
  8. Receive the payout in your wallet. Following receipt and successful processing, the resulting USDC or USDT is sent to your approved wallet.

Before you start

Verification, invoices and payment reviews

EurusPay must be able to understand who is paying, why the payment is being made and how the sender is connected to the recipient. Keep the commercial relationship clear and documented.

You may be asked for a valid identity document, proof of address, information about your professional or business activity, company registration and ownership documents, a client contract or statement of work, the corresponding invoice, a description of the services delivered, source-of-funds information, and expected transaction sizes and frequency.

The invoice issuer, verified account holder and payout wallet should match the approved setup. The sender must use the exact beneficiary name, IBAN, amount and payment reference supplied for the transaction.

Legitimate payments from a client’s bank account can be processed, but may be selected for additional review. If the relationship or payment purpose cannot be sufficiently verified, the funds may be returned to the sending bank account instead of being converted and paid out. Review the third-party payment requirements before requesting payment.

Personal-account eligibility for professional income is account-specific. Applicants expecting payments from multiple different senders may need a business account, supporting documents and prior approval. Do not use the flow for unrelated personal transfers or ask a friend, relative or unrelated company to send money on behalf of a customer.

Do not assume support for salaries, consumer transfers, donations, marketplace proceeds, investment payments or platform payouts. Confirm eligibility before sharing payment details for a transaction type that has not been approved.
